Early Bird Comedy Tickets: How to Pay $12 Instead of $20

Every show at Upper East Side Comedy Club starts at $12 if you book early enough. Most people pay $20 because they book the day before. Here is exactly how the pricing works, so you can be in the first group.

The three price tiers

Every show has the same ladder. Only the timing changes what you pay.

Super Early Bird — $12. Six tickets per show. Sales close six days before showtime.

Early Bird — $15. Eight tickets per show. Sales close four days before showtime.

Regular — $20. Thirty tickets. On sale until doors.

The room holds 40 people, so 14 of those seats are discounted. Once the cheap tiers close or sell out, everyone pays $20 — including the person standing at the door.

What this means in practice

Book a week ahead and you pay $12. Book five days ahead and you pay $15. Book the night before and you pay $20. Same room, same lineup, same seat — the only variable is when you decided to go.

That is an $8 difference on a ticket, which is roughly the price of a drink at the bar. For a couple booking a Friday night, planning a week ahead saves $16.

Why we price it this way

A 40-seat room lives or dies on knowing who is coming. Advance bookings let us tell the comics what kind of crowd to expect and let us stop selling before the room gets uncomfortable. The discount is a thank-you for helping us plan, not a gimmick — there is no fake countdown and the price never drops at the last minute to fill seats.

It also means the cheap tickets genuinely run out. Six Super Early Bird tickets is not a lot. On a busy Friday they can be gone the week they go on sale.

How to actually get the $12 price

Book at least a week out. Super Early Bird closes six days before the show, so seven days ahead is the safe window.

Pick a Thursday. Thursday shows fill more slowly than Friday and Saturday, so the early tiers stay open longer.

Book the late show. Comedy Killbox at 10pm on Friday and Saturday tends to have discounted tickets left after the 8pm show has sold through them.

Book the whole group in one order. Six Super Early Bird tickets exist per show. A group of four can take most of them in one go — but only if you book together.

The rest of the details

Shows run Thursday at 8pm, and Friday and Saturday at 8pm and 10pm, at 206 E 67th Street inside Bedford Falls NYC. There is a one food or drink item minimum per person. Doors open 30 minutes before showtime, seating is general admission, and shows are 21+ with valid ID. Tickets are non-refundable but we will exchange them for another show up to 24 hours before.
